“Live oak trees, festooned with cool scarves of Spanish Moss, and gnarled by a century of storms, loomed over the street. On the left, large white houses with long columns and graceful verandas ruled the approach to the river with mute elegance. Each house was a massive tribute to days long past. In one of the houses, drawling conspirators had planned the secession from the Union; in another Sherman himself had slept after his long march to the sea.”

In 2005 Team Lead Ayren Pfeifer moved with her family to Beaufort, South Carolina for the first time. Her husband Paul had recently completed flight training at NAS Pensacola and NAS Meridian and became an operational F/A-18 pilot at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. The young couple decided to purchase their first home on Lady’s Island; a modest bungalow where they made many happy memories including bringing home their second child, Max, from the hospital. After a five year stint in Virginia from 2008-2013, the Pfeifers returned to Beaufort for a second tour. By this time Ayren had obtained her Realtor’s license and was working full time. They enjoyed three very successful years in Beaufort, both personally & professionally.

Beaufort captivates with its breathtaking scenery, rich history and warm Southern hospitality. As it often does for newcomers, the essence of the Lowcountry began to leave an indelible mark. Over the course of their two tours in South Carolina the Pfeifers established friendships and connections that have surpassed the test of time. In addition to her personal connections, Ayren maintains her professional affiliations because, simply put, she knows and loves the area. As an active Realtor there, Ayren cut her teeth in the industry, surpassing in sales many of her seasoned counterparts who had been in real estate for decades. In 2015, a banner year, she earned a coveted spot on the local MLS’ (BCAR) “top 50 Realtors in Beaufort”.

It is her tenacity, resourcefulness and the nurturing of lasting relationships that keeps Ayren’s clients coming back, despite the logistical hurdles of conducting business in South Carolina while living in Southern California. And, as she likes to tell her clients, “I might not be able unlock a door for you but I can do everything else!”
